Business Restructuring
Our Business Restructuring team specialises in a wide range of activities from the
rescue, rehabilitation and turnaround of ailing businesses through to formal insolvencies
and asset forfeiture proceedings.
We aim to get businesses back on their feet as quickly as possible. This may mean
providing advice on the strategic options available to the business and its funders
or advising on the specific operational actions needed to improve performance and
put the business back on the road to recovery.
Where a business cannot be salvaged, we try to recover as much money as we can for
interested parties such as banks or other funders, employees and other creditors.
It’s not a job for the faint hearted. You’ll find yourself in highly
pressured situations from the start, expected to roll your sleeves up and make a
difference. You could be selling a business, recovering monies due to the company
failing, or providing employees with critical news in a timely manner.
In business restructuring, there is no such thing as a ‘typical job’.
So, if you like the idea of facing new challenges on every assignment, this type
of work will suit you right down to the ground.
One week you could be working in a small team to help turn around a business in distress.
The next you could be working as part of a massive national team assessing businesses
across the country.
You could be trying to recover as much money as possible for interested parties,
or managing the affairs of a company with a view to selling it - including budgeting
and strategic decisions.
From an early stage, you will be given responsibility for various parts of an assignment,
finding yourself dealing with a range of people, from the shop floor to the boardroom.
Whilst some of our work is office-based, you will frequently be required to attend
and conduct business at company sites.
Asset forfeiture is a proven and growing deterrent in the fight against financial
crime, whether in the context of civil or criminal proceedings. Our Asset Investigation
and Control (AIC) Group is considered a market leader in this area.
Work may involve conducting fraud investigations, tracing, securing and managing
assets or providing expert witness testimony.
