Bristol
I attended Bristol University between 1988 and 1993, obtaining two degrees - a BSc
(Biology) and a MA (Law). I graduated in 1991 and 1993 respectively. I subsequently
went on to obtain a Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law in London in
1994.
I joined BDO Stoy Hayward in April 2007 as Tax Director in our London office. Prior
to joining I worked at KPMG for ten years and PricewaterhouseCoopers for three
years.
My main role at BDO Stoy Hayward is to advise private equity and corporate clients
on the tax issues arising from acquisitions and disposals. This typically involves
performing tax due diligence on a target and devising a transaction structure that
is both tax efficient and commercially feasible.
I am championing Bristol University following my five happy years there - I have
fond memories of Bristol as it is where I met my wife. I am looking forward to giving
students an insight into the variety of opportunities we offer to those interested
in a career with BDO Stoy Hayward, and sharing with them my experiences of forging
a career in the City.
