As a mature student I attended the Wolverhampton University and obtained a 2:1 (Hons)
Degree in Business Enterprise in 1996 and then went on to complete my professional
accounting qualification.
I joined BDO Stoy Hayward in 2001 as a Manager in our Wolverhampton office. Prior
to joining BDO Stoy Hayward, I worked at Bentley Jennison, for 5 years following
10 years in various finance positions within local authority. In my current role
I lead at team of 10 professionals in Birmingham who specialise in the profession
of risk, governance and internal audit advice to various public sector organisations,
owner managed and publicly quoted companies across a range of industries.
I chose to be a champion at Loughborough University due to its excellent reputation
for producing top quality graduates. Although I have never directly worked with
Loughborough I have worked closely with HEFCE, the funding council on a number of
assignments as well has being involved in a number of other Universities across
the Country. Gaining my degree genuinely changed my life so I am looking forward
to meeting students and share my experiences who are looking for ideas on how to
start their professional careers. I enjoy my time at BDO Stoy Hayward, and would
be delighted to watch students enter and develop within the profession in which
I have been involved for so many years.
