BDO Stoy Hayward Southern Region operates out of two locations based in Gatwick and Epsom. The region comprises 400 people, working with clients to provide them with the appropriate skills and expertise to meet their needs. More recently our success in the region has been highlighted by being awarded the prestigious Corporate Finance Advisory Team of the Year at the South East Dealmakers Awards.

The South East region of the UK is one of the biggest commercial centres outside of central London and offers the best of both worlds – proximity to the capital and a high quality of living, without the living costs of London.

You can experience first hand the benefits of living in the region, the breathtaking views of the North and South Downs, music festivals and an abundance of pubs, restaurants, bars and clubs in a variety of locations.

Working for Southern Region provides our team with the opportunity for ongoing career development, and operating as one strategic business unit in three locations brings several key benefits to our team:

  • Work on a larger range of clients
  • Opportunities for experience in multiple streams
  • Opportunities to specialise. For example, we are the firm’s centre of excellence for non-profit organisations, covering Charities, Education and Registered Social Landlords.

Locally, we have a strong emphasis on sports and social activities, with events and activities organised regionally and at each location by our social committees including summer BBQ, Its a Knockout, cricket, golf and pamper evenings. Our team is also involved in many fundraising and volunteer activities, both in groups and as individuals. In the past year we have participated in Race for Life, Moonwalk, London to Brighton Bike Ride and volunteer activities in Malaysia.

Marina graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in European Law and German in 2004 and completed the Legal Practice Course at the Inns of Court School of Law in 2005. After a brief period in our Private Client group, she transferred to the Corporate Tax team in our Gatwick office.

“Over the last few months I have been involved in calculating companies’ tax liabilities, discussing technical issues with HM Revenue & Customs, restructuring groups of companies to effect tax planning and analysing legislation to discover further planning opportunities. It is a challenging and exciting environment to be working in, with plenty of opportunities for personal development.”
