In October 2007, our Leeds office will move to Bridgewater Place, which is Leeds’
first skyscraper and, at 32 storeys, its tallest building.
Bridgewater Place is a five minute walk from Leeds city station and will have full
on-site amenities.
Leeds city centre is famed for having more than 1,000 shops along with excellent
bars, clubs and restaurants.
Leeds has one of the fastest growing economies in the UK and is a leading financial
and legal centre, with more than 30 national and international banks and several
of the top ten law firms. Leeds has easy access to areas of outstanding beauty such
as the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors.
As a trainee you will have excellent opportunities to perform a variety of tasks,
with a diverse client base and work alongside recognised experts in their field
at an early stage in your career. But it’s not all work, because there is
plenty of opportunity for frequent nights out, sports activities and social events.
In 2006, the Leeds office entered four relay teams to compete against other professional
organisations to raise money for local charities. Socially the office arranges nights
out to the theatre, bowling and even karaoke!
Natasha Uttamchandani – Business Assurance
After completing an Accounting and Finance degree at Leeds Metropolitan, Natasha
joined BDO Stoy Hayward in the Business Assurance team. Still based in Leeds, she
works throughout the UK with a wide variety of clients.
“I’m particularly interested in the secondments you can do. My early
impressions of Tax and Forensics make me think I’d like to explore those areas.
I have regular meetings with my mentoring manager so when I get nearer to the end
of my exams we can talk through the options in more detail.”
