  • Accountancy Age - Global Firm of the Year

You may have seen that we’re a Times Top 100 Graduate employer. But when it comes to awards, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

In 2006, we were named ‘Global Firm of the Year’. This was the first year that the firm competed directly with the Big Four for this award. BDO Stoy Hayward's Managing Partner, Jeremy Newman, also received a personal honour – ‘Personality of the Year’.

Many of our recent awards reflect the way we treat our people.

Our firm has been recognised in a series of awards for its performance as an employer. We were named as one of the UK’s top employers in the 2008 Sunday Times ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’ survey – and the only accountancy firm to be included in the main category for a third consecutive year. We were also selected in the UK’s top 50 workplaces in a report published by the Financial Times.

The firm was also voted Accountancy Age ‘Employer of the Year’ for an unprecedented two consecutive years in 2004 and 2005 and was included in The Times ‘Top 50 Places Where Women Want to Work’ in 2007.

The firm’s unique market approach has been recognised by professional service industry peers in the MPF European Practice Management Awards for the second year running. The practice was named ‘mould-breaking firm’ of the year.

Judges commented: “BDO Stoy Hayward is breaking the mould by succeeding in providing a real alternative to the Big Four as a rounded client and employer brand without seeking to become a me-too member of an enlarged Big Five.”
