Why is diversity important?
BDO is absolutely not the kind of firm that takes on types. As we grow there are
more and more opportunities and we need people with different skills, different
experiences, different approaches to help us grow, to help us service our clients
in an innovative, creative and highly qualitative way.
How does the firm encourage diversity?
The firm encourages a diverse population through everything it does. Its application
procedures, its recruitment procedures which focus on the individual. But ultimately
I think it’s about the way in which the firm lives its values and the people
within the firm live those values. And one of those is around respect for the individual.
How is BDO Stoy Hayward different?
But I could give you a prescriptive list of the ways in which we’re different
but I think for me it's about the experience that people have when they work within
the firm and the experience our clients have when working with people who are given
responsibility, who focus on having a team approach and who enjoy what they do.
Is the firm serious about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)?
It’s important to us that we remain a sustainable organisation and that includes
how we impact on the environment and the communities within which we operate. So
we give opportunities for our employees to contribute to the environment through
volunteering opportunities, time out. And it’s important to our people. They
want to be part of that and they want to be able to make a difference.
