Derek is a partner in the Transaction Services team, specialising in acquisition due diligence for corporate and private equity buyers, vendor assistance and vendor due diligence.

Derek has been advising on transactions since 1998, joining BDO in 2004, having been with PwC in the UK and Australia. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1998 (FCA) and obtained a 1st class BA in Accounting & Financial Analysis from Newcastle University.

In 2011 Derek was seconded to Lyceum Capital, where he was responsible for originating, evaluating, structuring and executing investment opportunities, as well as portfolio development.

  • CSL Dualcom – refinancing by Octopus Investments, vendor due diligence, acquisition by Bowmark Capital (M2M technology)
