Philip has been with BDO for over thirty years and is the firm's National Head of Not-For-Profit. Most of Philip's time as a partner in BDO has been in audit assurance and risk and advisory services. This includes internal audit which he established as a new service line for the firm twenty years ago. His sector focus is with not-for-profit organisations, mainly Registered Providers of Social Housing and Registered Charities. He is also BDO's National Head of Social Housing and a member of the ICAEW Social Housing Committee. His social housing clients cover a wide range of providers including the London G15 and London L8. He also works with many recognised national charities covering a diverse range of charitable activities.
Philip is a holder of HM Treasury's Government Internal Audit Certificate (GIAC) in addition to his FCA qualification with the ICAEW. He has been instrumental in developing best practice in assurance frameworks and was part of an ICAEW Audit and Assurance Faculty project that produced the publication, 'The Power of Three: understanding the roles and relationships of internal and external auditors and audit committees'. Philip is also an Audit & Risk Committee member of the Royal Horticultural Society, a large registered charity.
