Mannings Heath - A tour of West Sussex

Our third ride of the season. Where will be we will be heading to West Sussex and for the first time touring the roads of the South Downs. This fully supported ride of c40 miles will take in the sights of Sussex.

Starting and ending at Mannings Heath golf club, we will be joined by two members of a crew aiming to take part in The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge in aid of Action Medical Research. In December this year Philip Bigland and Jason Kerr will be rowing across the Atlantic Ocean in memory of baby Elijah who was born too soon and sadly only survived for 37 days. As Team Elijahs Star they aim to row the 3000 miles in just 37 days. Only 187 people have ever successfully completed the trip they are about to embark on. Philip Bigland is Director of Business Services at Dyson. He has completed numerous ultra-events and embraces the physical extremes but more importantly understands the mental strength required for the journey.

Jason Kerr is a Senior Manager at KPMG and a British Army veteran serving with the Royal Engineers chief engineer. He is no stranger to adversity, having served across the world in combat security operations. The name of the team Elijah’s Star is in memory of this little chap in the video.

Date: Thursday 22 July

Time: 10:15 - 17:00

Registration fee - £75.00, of which £5 will be donated to Action Medical Research.
