Despite significant investment in the brands and store portfolio, BENCH experienced significant cash flow difficulties driven by the challenging retail environment.
BENCH and its associated subsidiaries were placed in to administration (or equivalent process in the respective jurisdictions) in May 2018. BDO was appointed Administrators to BENCH.
BDO’s Special Situations M&A Team was introduced to run an accelerated sales process in the administration in conjunction with appointed brand advisers.
BDO delivered a sale of the global rights to the Bench brand and all its related intellectual property assets to retail and brand specialist, Gordon Brothers.
