The annual report on the travel industry focuses on the year ahead and hopes for a strong rebound as restrictions are eased and the world once again opens for exploration.

The survey also focused on the timing of the recovery, how well-placed operators thought they were to take advantage of the clear pent-up demand in the market, their future M&A plans and what they think the key travel trends will be in 2022 and beyond.

We now have an eight-month period under our belts where UK hospitality businesses have all been able to trade. Leisure and hospitality operators have worked hard to adapt to keep their customers safe. It’s these reasons, along with encouraging data on the reduced severity of our latest COVID-19 variant, that we are confident around the recovery of travel.

The report gives you insight into the latest ATOL holder numbers. The largest 250 ATOL holder passenger numbers submitted for the year ahead have grown by 11% compared to last year, another encouraging sign.
