Download: Charity Update webinar Part Three – staying on top of your taxes
Our charity tax experts focus on the latest tax and VAT updates and answer some of the recurring questions we keep hearing from the sector, in order to help charities succeed and stay on top of tax.
After a brief welcome from our National Head of Charities, Jill Halford, the session starts with a look at the impact of economic uncertainty on corporation tax. Paul Knight, Head of Not for Profit tax, takes us through Corporate Gift Aid and the Emergency Relief Package, as well as funding loss making subsidiaries and the tax implications involved.
Glyn Woodhouse, Not for Profit VAT partner, explores the temporary reduced rates announced in the recent Summer Statement and how to handle them, looks at some upcoming changes – such as domestic reverse charges and Making Tax Digital, gives an overview of some recent case law then finishes with a round-up of VAT considerations in light of the current COVID-19 situation.
Caroline Jones, Not for Profit Employment Tax Director, then provides an update on managing the changing rules on employment taxes. Starting with an overview of the off-payroll working regulations (IR35), Caroline then looks at the Coronavirus support payments available and summer statement announcements, before providing an update on HMRC’s Time to Pay arrangements.
