Chaired by Anna Jarrold, Head of Professional Services Tax, each webinar is designed to bring you the latest in tax developments that are relevant for professional services firms and include a range of topics from international tax issues such as Transfer Pricing and BEPS, employment tax updates and local tax compliance. We will also bring you updates from specific country territories where a number of professional services firms operate.

In this, we were joined by Mark Walters and Andrew Harrison from our transatlantic tax advisory team to provide an update on the US tax considerations for professional services firms with operations in the US.
The webinar provided an update on the structures we see UK headquartered professional services firms operate in the US and the relevant issues associated with such structures.
We also discussed the issues facing UK partners relocating to the US, as well as US partners coming to the UK.

Our 2017 series of tax webinars for professional services continues with a look at the UK tax landscape with a focus on professional services firms.
Chaired by Anna Jarrold, Head of Professional Services Tax, we were joined by a number of BDO tax experts to discuss the impact of BREXIT, the latest government consultation to make tax digital, employment tax and the new off-payroll working rules and the latest on transfer pricing.
16 February 2017: VAT update for professional services firms
To launch the 2017 series of BDO Tax Webinars for Professional Services firms we took a focussed look at VAT for Professional Services firms.
In this webinar, Micheal Ashdown, Director in BDO’s Indirect Tax team, drew on his experience of working with Professional Services firms to provide an update on UK and international VAT with key issues relevant to professional services firms.
1 December 2016: BEPS update for professional services firms: How has BEPS affected transfer pricing compliance?
Our latest webinar in the Professional services Tax Webinar Series focused on the latest international developments following the OECD recommendations addressing Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS).
Firms with international operations must address these challenges head-on and act quickly to ensure they are not caught out by new rules coming into effect from 2017.
We were joined by BDO's International Tax Partner Malcolm Joy and Director Duncan Nott who shared the latest insight into the 15 point action plan and the impact on professional services firms.
6 October 2016: French Tax Update for Professional Services firms
Jacques Saint-Jalmes, a partner in our French office who specialises in the professional services sector, will be hosting a webinar providing an update on the issues being seen in this territory, practicalities of dealing with partner’s affairs and some potential important changes being introduced.
4 August 2016: Employment Tax
The fourth in the series of webinars took place on Thursday 4 August and we were joined by firms from across the PS spectrum including Magic Circle law firms, architectural practices, management consultancy and recruitment firms. The webinar focused on employment tax and issues specifically for professional services firms and provided an update on the apprenticeship levy, short term business visitors, managing increased employer accountability and termination payments.
13 June 2016: US tax update for professional services firms
We were joined by Mark Walters and Andrew Harrison from our transatlantic tax advisory team to provide an update on the US tax considerations for professional services firms with operations in the US. The webinar particularly focussed on domestic US structures, LLP’s in the US, foreign partnerships, structuring for the US market and the income tax rules for people working in the US.
7 April 2016: Tax transparency and strategy for professional services firms
The second of our tax updates for professional services firms focussed on tax transparency, strategy and risk management. The webinar not only addressed the issues relevant to professional services firms, but also touched on the issues relevant to their clients. We also discussed the areas where we are seeing our clients taking action in respect of transparency and strategy and how we have assisted them.
8 December 2015: How OECD recommendations on BEPS impact on global professional services firms
The global financial crisis in 2008 saw government tax revenues drop substantially and ultimately resulted in the spotlight being turned on multi-national businesses and the amount of tax they were paying on their global profit. This webinar features BDO tax specialists from Germany, China, Australia and the UK as they discuss the likely impact f the OECD recommendations to tackle BEPS on professional services firms.
