Leigh is a Partner in our specialist Public Sector Assurance team.
Since joining BDO in 2004 he has worked with many public sector organisations including local authorities, NHS trusts, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), NHS Foundation Trusts, and fire and rescue authorities. Leigh previously worked for the Audit Commission. He has over 20 years' experience providing audit, assurance and value for money services across the public sector.
He is a member of Monitor's Technical Issues Forum for NHS Foundation Trusts and regularly participates in public sector working parties to develop accounting and technical advice for NHS and local government bodies.
Leigh often supports other advisory teams by providing technical accounting advice on subjects such as PFI / PPP infrastructure, financial modelling and consultancy support.
In addition to a number of external audit clients, Leigh has recent expertise in:
- Reviews of financial plans and delivery of NHS cost improvement programmes / QIPP schemes
- Accounting advice for joint procurement of infrastructure
- Sickness absence management savings
- Forensic review in respect of irregular transactions.
