Phil acts for a variety of stakeholders in distressed situations including Company's themselves, Shareholders, Banks, Credit insurers, and Pension trustees. Increasingly in the current market it is the Company who is acting as the driving force behind finding solutions, and Phil's wide experience leaves him well placed to manage stakeholders expectations and analyse the situation to enable robust and realistic options to be formulated. Phil works closely with other services at BDO to provide debt advisory, exit or sale options as well as more traditional diagnostic, or business review assignments.
Phil worked at KPMG for 18 years, prior to joining BDO, 15 years of which were spent on initially on formal insolvency assignments, with an increasing focus on Advisory work. His experience is wide both in terms of the nature of work, including cash management, business reviews, debt advisory and refinancing, operational and financial restructuring, as well as the range of clients. Having worked in the Midlands manufacturing businesses form a core of the businesses Phil has worked with, both SME's and larger businesses. His experience includes businesses as diverse as caravan retailers, financial services, hotels and software houses. Based on sound financial analysis, Phil brings keen commercial focus to situations, and manages stakeholders with a calm and collegiate approach.
