BDO promotes 26 new partners across the firm

Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has announced the promotion of 26 new partners across its tax, audit, advisory and operational teams.

Effective from the 1st November 2021, the promotions follow the appointment of 21 new external partners since January.

The promotions include ten people in BDO’s audit practice: Matt Hopkins, Orla Reilly, Charles Morelli, Claire O’Kane, Jack Draycott, Piers Harrison, Stuart Godfrey, Chris Wingrave, James Newman and Rob Frost.

Ben Tarry, Carrie Rutland, Helen Griffiths, Simon Bird, Tahir Ebrahim and Talia Greenbaum have all been promoted to partners in BDO’s tax team.

Within BDO’s advisory team, Laura Stuffins, Maria Mason (both business services and outsourcing), Elizabeth McGovern, Mark Patterson (both business restructuring), Janie Reid (Modelling), David Bevan, Jo Davenport (both transaction services) and Jon Dee (digital, risk and advisory services) have all been promoted.

BDO has also made promotions within its operations teams. Nigel Britton has been promoted to partner and will lead the firm’s shared services centre in Liverpool. Nicola Lally has also been promoted to communications partner.

As a group, the new partners have significant experience across a wide range of sectors and specialisms including financial services, natural resources and energy, retail and consumer markets and real estate. More than a quarter of the promotions are in regions outside of London and more than a third sit within the firm’s audit practice.

In addition to promotions to partner, BDO has promoted more than 1500 people across the firm including over 750 within its audit practice.

Paul Eagland, Managing Partner at BDO, commented: “These promotions represent BDO’s commitment to investing in our people and the future of our business.

“Each one of our 26 new partners offers a diverse and dynamic way of thinking. During a challenging period, they have demonstrated excellent leadership skills while supporting their teams and the delivery of increasingly complex work for our clients.

“Becoming a partner is a rigorous but rewarding process. The new partners and all those who have been promoted throughout the business should all be incredibly proud of this achievement.”
