  • Summary

Are you a Public Body or a medium or large business?

The BDO Tax Support for Professionals team is delighted to let you know that we will be holding a breakfast seminar on Tuesday 4 February 2020 on the new off-payroll worker rules, which come into effect from 6 April 2020. The event will be held at our Bristol office and will be of interest to all public sector employers as well as those businesses, which meet two out of the following three criteria;

  • Annual turnover in excess of £10.2m
  • Balance sheet total in excess of £5.1m
  • Average employees during the financial year in excess of 50

These rules come into force from 6 April 2020 and businesses will need to ensure that they are ready to deal with extra compliance requirements and potential increased costs in relation to off-payroll workers.

Presented by members of our regional employment tax team, our seminar will focus on:

  • Current rules
  • What is the definition of a Personal Service Company
  • What’s changing for the private (and public) sector
  • Is your business affected and if so what are you required to do
  • HMRC’s view of employment status
  • Issues experienced by the Public Sector when off-payroll rules were introduced for them in 2017
  • Developments in HMRC’s Check Employment Status for Tax on-line tool,
  • Practical examples of what it could mean for your business
