Alongside the governors / VCE session James Aston is running on 28 October, James has decided to run a session for members of audit committees (other governors, members of VCE welcomed).
For those familiar with the ‘old style courses’ that James ran (Audit Committee Breakfast Seminars), the ‘governors session’ is the front half and the ‘audit committee’ session is the back half. These are two discrete and complimentary sessions and will, as ever, be updated to the morning of delivery (sometimes HE moves at quite a pace).
This updated session for HEI audit committee members, clerks (and interested governors / members of VCE) will run as a webinar at 9.00am on Wednesday 9 September 2020. The session will be 45 minutes followed by a 15 minutes questions and answers session.
It will incorporate changes through the recent issue of the CUC ‘Higher Education Audit Committees Code of Practice’ and changes to ongoing conditions of registration from the OfS; HEIs must consider the impact of the revised code and its application within their institution as well as ongoing OfS requirements.
We are particularly pleased that John Rushforth (Executive Secretary, Committee of University Chairs) will join James as co-presenter. John will articulate best practice (CUC Code) and James will address some of the pitfalls commonly seen in the sector. Each of them will draw on their extensive sector experience, unpacking the Code from both a principles perspective and a user’s perspective.
