Dave Whelan Sports Limited - in Administration (‘the Company’)
BDO LLP were appointed Joint Administrators of Dave Whelan Sports Limited on 3 August 2020. The affairs, business and property of the Company are now managed by the Joint Administrators. The Joint Administrators are agents of the Company and act without personal liability.
On 22 August 2020, the Joint Administrators exchanged contracts with SDI Fitness (DW) Limited (‘SDI’), part of Frasers Group PLC, for the sale of the Company’s business as a going concern, with a completion date of close of business on Sunday 23 August 2020. As a consequence, the DW Sports business, comprising all open leisure and retail sites, is under new ownership with effect from Monday 24 August 2020. It is possible that SDI will reopen various leisure and retail sites that had closed either prior to or during Administration.

Staff Whose Roles have Become Redundant during Administration

Information for Suppliers
Outstanding Orders – The Company will no longer be placing orders with suppliers with effect from 24 August 2020. If the Company has placed an order with you and the goods or services have not yet been delivered, please contact the Company directly to discuss the matter further.
Retention of Title Claims – If you have already informed us that you wish to claim retention of title in respect of good supplied to the Company, you will be contacted directly regarding the information that is required to assess your claim. Please do not attend at any Company premises, as you will not be given access without a prior agreed appointment.
Outstanding Monies - If you are owed money by the Company at the date of Administration, you may have an unsecured claim against the Company. A letter has been sent to all creditors explaining the current position and what you should do.
Information for Landlords
During the Administration, the Company was continuing to trade from some of its leasehold premises, whilst other sites ceased to trade. Following the sale of the DW Sports business, you will be contacted directly regarding the situation that is specific to your property.
