What happens in ADR?

ADR introduces a mediator into the dispute process. The mediator, a third party, will review your case and the position of HMRC before seeking a resolution based on collaboration and consensus. You can apply for ADR at any stage in a dispute, even after the Tribunal process has started. However, normally only mature cases where facts have been fully communicated to HMRC.
