Dan Brookes

I am the Interim Regional Managing Partner for Yorkshire and the North-East, leading the growth and development of our services across the region and a team of more than 200 talented people. Alongside this, I lead our Corporate Tax practice across the region. Businesses come to me for practical advice on complex tax matters, international operations and navigating change with confidence.

I work mainly with large corporate organisations that operate across multiple territories. By working closely with colleagues across the international network of BDO Member Firms, I help organisations manage their tax responsibilities and better understand overseas markets from both a commercial and tax perspective. I also lead regular tax events in the region, sharing insights on domestic and international developments and helping finance and in-house tax teams stay ahead of a changing landscape.

Social mobility is a personal passion of mine. As Sponsoring Partner for Social Mobility and Citizenship, I help drive our firm-wide ambition to create equal opportunities for people to access and progress within our profession. I also serve as the BDO trustee member of Access Accountancy, where I support efforts to ensure that talent and potential, not background, determine who can succeed in the accountancy profession.
