Ed is a corporate and international tax partner who specialises in advising larger and multi-national businesses on all aspects of their corporate and international tax affairs. Prior to joining BDO, Ed spent 19 years at a Big 4 firm, including four as partner.
His experience covers the full range of international tax issues for both UK-based businesses investing abroad and overseas businesses investing in the UK. This includes cross-border acquisitions and disposals, business reorganisations and change, tax implications of cross-border financing and support with tax authority audits. He has particular areas of technical specialism include tax treaties and withholding tax, tax issues connected to debt finance, anti-hybrid rules, OECD changes (including the upcoming Pillar 2 rules), UK Controlled Foreign Companies, Diverted Profits Tax and the Substantial Shareholding Exemption.
