I lead our global mobility tax business across the north of the UK, am passionate about helping our clients and people succeed and am an avid long-distance runner.
I support clients with all aspects of global mobility compliance whether that be formal secondments, short-term business visitors, remote workers or non-resident Directors. This encompasses income tax, social security, immigration, regulatory and payroll compliance advice. It also includes policy advisory support and the wider aspects employers need to consider when requesting that their workforce are globally mobile.
During my time at BDO I have supported a wide variety of businesses from start-ups, to scale ups through to FTSE 100 businesses. Whilst the compliance requirements for globally mobile employees are largely industry agnostic, I have a keen interest in the tech sector, having spent time in a digital innovation role, and have also acquired expertise in supporting law firms. International tax policies for expatriates is a fascinating area and one that is ever evolving as the geo-political landscape changes. Staying abreast of global changes through our international network is how I consistently add value and take pride in being an expert in this area.
Outside of work I am a keen runner and have entered a series of long-distance running events over the years. Whilst the half marathon has been my preferred distance, I am dipping my toe into the world of marathon running to tick this off my bucket list. I am also the proud Mum of four wonderful children who keep me busy and make sure that there is rarely a quiet moment in the Burton household.
