BDO has advised Specialist Risk Group on the acquisition of KBIS British Equestrian Insurance.
Specialist Risk Group has acquired KBIS British Equestrian Insurance, the UK-based equestrian specialist insurance broker. KBIS provides a wide product range for the equestrian industry, including cover for horses, property, horseboxes and trailers.
The acquisition of KBIS expands SRG’s retail insurance capabilities into a specialist sector. KBIS will form part of Specialist Risk Insurance Solutions; SRG’s rapidly expanding retail business.
SRG is a fast-growing insurance intermediary group and the acquisition follows the announcement in December 2020 of HGGC as the new majority shareholder of SRG, subject to regulatory approval. SRG was formed in July 2020 following the merger of Miles Smith, The Underwriting Exchange, Square Mile Broking and David Codling. SRG acquired Insolvency Risk Solutions in July 2020 and GB Underwriting in January 2021.
