Hyder Consulting plc, a leading multi-national design and engineering consultancy, has acquired SR³C, an independent nuclear safety business. The move is the latest strategic acquisition by Hyder Consulting as part of its rapid growth in the energy sector. Previous UK acquisitions in the last three years have added major hazards safety and reliability and power systems study capabilities to Hyder’s list of specialist services. The combined business has established clients in the nuclear, oil and gas, renewables, transmission and distribution, and defence sectors, including EDF Energy, Babcock Marine, AWE, National Grid, Scottish Power, Vattenfall and a wide range of international oil and gas companies.
