The BDO Midlands Transaction Services team has advised Premier Paper Group on its acquisition of Wine Box Company Limited.
Based in Birmingham, Premier Paper Group is one of the UK's leading independent paper merchants with 5,500 different product items from many of the world's leading paper manufacturers. The company was acquired in 2019 by Japan Pulp and Paper, a $4bn revenue global company with over 3,900 people across several diverse sectors but with paper at its core.
The acquisition of Wine Box Company, a specialist drinks and food packaging business serving retail clients, is the latest deal in PPG’s buy and build strategy and widens its product portfolio and brings on board prestigious customers such as Harrods and Fortnum & Masons.
"The BDO Transaction Services and Transaction Tax teams did a great job advising us on this acquisition. Their flexible approach and willingness to bring ideas to the table, based on their experience was clearly demonstrated and ultimately helped to secure the completion of the deal. BDO's use of data analytics tools and techniques during the diligence process, added detailed insight on the trading dynamics and trends of the business, which greatly assisted our understanding of the target during the deal process and will also assist us post transaction"
