BDO has provided financial and tax diligence support and tax structuring advice on LDC’s investment in Eagle Eye Innovations (“EEI”). EEI is a leading provider of drone training, operating and consulting services, recently becoming the first accredited provider for the new Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) Remote Pilot Certificate Level 1 and is positioned to work with the CAA to deliver training across all RPC levels as the regulatory framework matures. EEI is also able to offer a comprehensive service to assist clients with UK Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA) applications. EEI, founded in 2013, is based in Lincoln and currently employs over 60 individuals including drone instructors and operators, providing services across multiple sectors including built environment, utilities, infrastructure and agriculture.
With applications ranging from infrastructure inspection and utilities surveying to precision agriculture and aerial mapping, commercial drone technology is transforming how organisations operate. EEI has scaled rapidly, meeting market demand for regulatory compliant drone operators and securing multi-year contracts with major clients.

“We were really pleased to help LDC throughout this process, and were impressed by the EEI management team and the growth journey they are on. We look forward to seeing the development EEI makes with LDC’s support. This transaction adds to BDO’s growing list of credentials whilst also highlighting the important role SMEs play across the UK.”
