New ways of building
Housebuilding remains critical to the economic and social health of the UK but lack of available land and current planning policy continues to result in a painfully slow housing delivery process. Whilst the majority of housebuilding continues to be delivered by volume housebuilders, there are clear opportunities for medium-sized housebuilders and smaller developers, particularly through the Government’s £3bn Home Building Fund and other Housing White Paper initiatives such as promoting higher density in areas of short land supply. The growth of the private rented sector (PRS) and funding for local authorities will also play a key role and we expect to see new forms of partnership between private developers and housing associations in future housing delivery.
