As the end of 2019 loomed, housing associations were facing the first December election since 1923, an extended Brexit deadline and the challenge of balancing investment in both new and existing homes.

Exactly how housing providers navigate these uncertain times and deliver with purpose was the topic of discussion at Social Housing's round table, for which our National Head of Housing, Phil Cliftlands, was joined by some of the sector's leading players from across the country.

The conversation opened with a question that was met with somewhat a mixed response: Is this a time for optimism in the sector?
