What are Venture Capital investors looking for?

If you are a founder and you are looking for venture capital investment for your business, you need to give yourself the best possible chance of success. Prepare to get “deal-ready” by really getting to know your prospective investors and what they’re looking for.

We approached 40 early-stage venture capital investors and asked them some need-to-know questions that founders should be aware of ahead of pursuing a fundraise.

Some of our key findings include:

• 29% of early-stage investors say founders are rarely “deal-ready” when they get in touch.
• More than half of investors (53%) reveal that this means they walk away from deals.
• 95% of investors confirm a strong founder/management team was the most important factor when considering an investment.
