BDO welcomes five new partners

The five new partners take the firm’s total number of partners to 434. The latest additions to the partnership are across BDO’s London, Nottingham and Leeds offices. 

Based in the Midlands, Ian Bennington brings more than 20 years’ risk advisory experience to the firm and will take on a national role leading the firm’s governance, risk and compliance offering. He joins from Deloitte. 

Debbie Thomas joins BDO’s London office as an audit partner focusing on technology & media. Prior to joining BDO, Debbie was a Partner at Deloitte. She most recently served as CFO for a London-based fintech firm focused on financial inclusion and launching mobile money products in emerging markets. 

Also joining BDO as a partner in the firm’s audit team is Helen Detre. Helen will fill a new role of Chief Audit Risk Officer focusing on audit quality. She will be based in BDO’s London office and joins from EY. 

David Gonnelli joins the London office as a partner in BDO’s financial services audit team. He brings extensive multi-jurisdictional experience in the financial services sector with a focus on banking and capital markets. He also joins from EY. 

Based in BDO’s Leeds office, Sarah Anderson joins the not-for-profit team as an audit partner. She brings nearly 30 years’ experience with particular expertise in charity auditing, accounts and governance advice. She joins BDO from Deloitte.
