BDO advises Revive! on its investment from Mobeus Equity Partners

Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has advised one of the UK’s leading mobile SMART repair franchise networks around its investment from Mobeus Equity Partners, as the business continues to execute an ambitious growth strategy.

A successful franchise business headquartered in Rugby, Revive! has built a national footprint delivering high-quality, mobile cosmetic vehicle repair services to retail and trade customers. The business is now a trusted partner to dealerships, fleets and insurers, supported by a growing network of skilled franchise operators.

The partnership with Mobeus Equity Partners introduces significant strategic and financial backing to accelerate the business’ expansion plans. The investment will support network growth through new franchise territories and enhanced technician recruitment. It will also allow for more technology development to drive job efficiency, customer experience and data insight. The investment will boost brand and marketing, as well as strengthening the operational infrastructure to support a larger franchise base.

Mobeus brings deep experience in scaling UK consumer and B2B service businesses, with a strong track record in working alongside management teams to deliver long-term value creation.

Mark Llewellyn will continue to lead the business, supported by the existing senior leadership team, ensuring continuity of strategy, culture and execution.

Mark Llewellyn, Managing Director at Revive!, said: “This is a hugely exciting moment for Revive!. We’ve built a strong, resilient and highly scalable business, and this investment allows us to accelerate that momentum.

“Mobeus understands our model, sector and our franchise-first approach. Together, we are exceptionally well positioned to capitalise on a growing market opportunity. This is the business’ most significant milestone to date. Therefore, it was vital that we had advisers who understand our sector, the dynamics of an ambitious entrepreneurial business and the scale of our ambitions. BDO added value at every stage and made the deal a real success.”

The transaction also marks the planned retirement of co founder Terry Mullen, who has played a central role in building Revive! into one of the UK’s most respected automotive franchise brands. Terry will support a structured transition to ensure continuity and stability.

The deal was led by a team at BDO in Manchester headed up by Claire Frangou, providing M&A advice (Chris Cumber, Dominic Eccles, Sabine Robinson), tax advice (Tom Klouda, Rebecca Park) and financial modelling (Janie Reid, Alexa Harley).

Claire Frangou, M&A partner at BDO, said: “Terry and Mark have built an award-winning franchise business with a strong track record of value creation and exciting plans ahead. The business is ready to accelerate growth and reinforce its leadership position in the UK automotive aftermarket. We have deep experience of supporting franchise businesses with their growth ambitions and we’re delighted to have worked alongside the team in developing this strategic partnership with Mobeus. This deal was a great result for all parties. We wish Mark and the team every success, and Terry a well-earned retirement.”

Jordan Kay, Investment Director at Mobeus, added: "We are delighted to be partnering with Mark and the wider Revive! team. Revive! has established a market-leading position in an attractive and evolving sector, underpinned by a differentiated technology platform, a high-quality franchise network and deep customer relationships across the automotive ecosystem. This investment exemplifies the type of business Mobeus seeks to back: founder-led, market-leading businesses operating in attractive niche markets with clear opportunities for long-term growth.”

Other advisers on the deal were: TLT (vendor legal advice), Squire Patton Boggs (Mobeus legal advice)
