BDO promotes over 2,200 people and 29 new partners as its investment in talent continues

Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has announced the promotion of over 2,200 colleagues throughout its UK business, including 29 newly promoted partners across its Audit, Tax, Deals and Consulting, Risk & Outsourcing teams.

Effective from 1 November 2026, the promotions reflect the firm's continued investment in developing talent at every stage of a career, from early engagement with school students through to leadership positions across the business.

The promotions follow a year in which BDO significantly expanded its social mobility and citizenship programmes and partnerships, reaching more than 8,200 young people through work experience, insight events and virtual career initiatives.

In addition, 525 new trainees - a mix of school leaver apprentices, graduates and industrial placements - were welcomed into the business in September. More than one in four of BDO's people are now undertaking a graduate, apprenticeship or industrial placement programme.

Almost a third of this year's newly promoted partners are based in regions outside London, reflecting BDO's commitment to investing regional growth and talent. Furthermore, more than a third of its newly promoted partners are female, in line with its ambitions to see 30% female representation at partner level by the end of 2030.

Louise Sayers, Head of People, Culture & Purpose at BDO, says:

"The success of our business is built on the expertise, ambition and commitment of our people. These promotions recognise the outstanding contribution each individual has made to our clients, colleagues and communities.

"We believe creating opportunities for success should begin before young people ever enter the workplace. It starts by helping them understand the career paths available to them, gain meaningful experience and build confidence in their future.

"From supporting thousands of students with work experience and career insight opportunities, to developing future partners and business leaders within our firm, we are committed to helping our people succeed, progress and achieve their potential. I am delighted to congratulate everyone being promoted this year."

More than 1,200 people have been promoted in BDO's Audit practice in addition to 10 newly appointed partners; Sarah Kierstan, Daniel Pratt, Georgie Gaunt, Adam Barallon, John Detweiler, Caroline Hulmston, Anna Lillie, George Moore, Chris Saxby and Paul Williams.

BDO's Tax practice has seen the promotion of 315 people in addition to seven newly appointed partners; Steph Carr, Olga Sweeney, Peter Cheng, Gemma Davies, Emma Poynter, Michael Pape and Matthew Carter.

Across BDO's Consulting, Risk and Outsourcing practice, 358 people have been promoted as well as four new partners; Andrew Hutton, Tristan Oorloff, Claire Robertson and John Critchley Roper.

Almost 170 people have been promoted in BDO's Deals practice in addition to eight new partners; Matthew McDevitt, Lorna Hopkinson, Alistair Rolland, Craig Goold, Ryan Biscomb, Lewis Winston, Ollie Woodward and James Garside.

BDO's Central Operations team has seen the promotion of 176 people.
