Trond-Morten Lindberg marks new chapter for BDO as Global CEO

  • Lindberg takes over as Global CEO as BDO looks to drive growth and global integration as part of 2030 strategy
  • Focus on greater global coordination and deepening capabilities to strengthen execution across the organisation
  • BDO is committed to harnessing the power of AI to reshape and reinvent operations as investment in both people and technology play a central role in the network’s future

Brussels, 2nd November 2026: Leading international professional services provider, BDO, today announces that Trond-Morten Lindberg has begun his term as Global CEO, succeeding Pat Kramer, who is retiring after serving in the role since November 2022.

Having spent more than 25 years with BDO, Lindberg most recently served as Chief Strategy and Operations Officer, where he played a pivotal role in shaping BDO’s global strategy.

Lindberg has also held several other senior leadership roles across the organisation. Having joined BDO Norway in 1999 as a graduate trainee, he was promoted to partner in 2006 before becoming Managing Partner and CEO of BDO Norway in 2010. Lindberg joined BDO’s Global Leadership Team in 2017, when he took on the role as CEO EMEA.

Commenting on his first day as BDO’s Global CEO, Trond-Morten Lindberg said:

“I am honoured and energised to take on the role of Global CEO at an important time when both our markets and professional services are undergoing significant change and systemic shifts. Over the last 12 months, I have been working alongside Pat Kramer, engaging with partners and colleagues across the globe, and refining my priorities as I prepared to take on the role. I would like to thank Pat for his leadership and the significant contribution he has made to BDO over many years.

“Our network was built with the purpose of supporting our clients as their ambitions and challenges became increasingly global. More than 60 years later, that purpose has never been more relevant. The world changing rapidly, and it is more important than ever to stay agile in our approach, while setting clear ambitions for what we want to achieve. That means bringing our firms closer together, combining the right expertise and making it easier for clients to access the best of BDO wherever they operate.

“We have a clear ambition and significant opportunity ahead of us to harness the collective strength of the BDO network to grow together and be bolder as we move into this next chapter.”

Lindberg takes on the role as BDO accelerates execution of its 2030 strategy. As clients become more global, the organisation is focused on greater collaboration and integration across its network, bringing together both scale and agility so clients can more easily access the right expertise wherever they operate.

Underpinning this, BDO is committed to harnessing the power of AI to reshape and reinvent the way the network and its clients operate, built on a foundation of responsible AI adoption partnered with human expertise, judgement and robust governance.
