Colin is a Senior Professional Services Tax Partner. He brings over 30 years’ experience working primarily for the Professional Services sector, giving taxation and commercial advice to firms and their partners.
He is a recognised expert on the tax issues involved with mergers, incorporation and international expansion. Colin is co-author of a number of books including the leading text on LLPs – The Law of Limited Liability Partnerships and The Guide to the Legal Services Act 2007 where his chapter looks at alternative business structures for law firms.
His clients include global professional service firms including legal, real estate advisors, actuaries, Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys, architects and engineers. Often referred to as the doyen of UK partnership taxation he also advises on situations where partnership structures are used including within the Financial Services sector.
He is a regular commentator in the professional press with articles on firms’ cash flow management and funding, managing partner performance and professional service firm mergers.
Colin is former Chairman, and continuing member, of the Association of Partnership Practitioners Tax Committee.
