I've spent almost 30 years involved in tax investigations. After qualifying as an Inspector of Taxes at the Inland Revenue, I spent over 20 years in senior roles across HMRC, including Large Business, the Fraud Investigation Service and Central Policy, where I was responsible for tax administrative powers and safeguards. My final HMRC role was as Head of the High Net Worth Unit in Nottingham.

I moved into private practice in 2018, leading and growing the Tax Disputes Resolution team at Mazars before joining the firm as a Partner in 2025. My current focus is building and growing the team's presence outside London, working with corporate and private clients in Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds.

That combination of extensive HMRC experience and private practice advisory gives me a distinctive perspective on how to resolve disputes effectively.
