Helen Patel

I play a key role in managing our relationship with the Financial Reporting Council, including interactions with the Audit Firm Supervision, Audit Quality Review and Audit Market Supervision teams. My focus is on driving high standards across our audit practice.

Before joining in 2022, I spent over 15 years at PwC, including time in the National Audit Risk and Quality team. There I led work on ISQC (UK) 1 testing, implementation of ISQM (UK) 1, monitoring of regulatory review actions and the audit risk management helpline. This gave me a strong foundation in quality management systems and regulatory expectations.

I've developed our Single Quality Action Plan and a digital tool to house it, and I oversee reporting to governance bodies on its progress. I'm passionate about challenge and collaboration, making sure the actions we take are fit for purpose, proportionate and genuinely drive quality improvement.
