Jamie’s core purpose is to help his clients (principally entrepreneur-led businesses, management teams and PE houses) thrive in the complex worlds of Corporate Finance and M&A. He does this by spending time to properly understand their aspirations, their motivations and their businesses. This has resulted in a large network and many long term relationships. Alongside his own experience and expertise, Jamie uses this network to make introductions where he believes they will be valuable in terms of their skills, experiences and personality.
He will also challenge you on what you might be thinking of doing, especially if you are an entrepreneur wanting to sell. Jamie has been working in corporate finance / M&A since 1993 when he was involved in the IPO of Pizza Express. Since then, he has advised on 100s of deals, across many sectors, including several other IPOs, acquisitions, government funding initiatives like PFI, debt raisings, public takeovers, management buy-outs and sales of private businesses for corporates, PE houses and entrepreneurs / owner-managers. Advising on private divestitures makes up more than 50% of his experience. Jamie specialises in advising on deals in the pharma / life sciences sector, where he works extensively with his colleagues, Mark Andrews and Carrie Yang. He also leads BDO’s Private Equity strategy in the UK.
