Executive Summary

Joe is a Director within the Corporate International Tax team in London. He has specialised in corporate tax for over 12 years with a focus on the Media, Technology and Manufacturing sectors.  

Joe advises both UK and non-UK multinational companies (quoted and private) on all aspects of their corporate tax affairs, including tax structuring, IP planning, profit repatriation and managing permanent establishment and residence risks. He also manages the global tax compliance processes for a number of US parented groups, coordinating the services of BDO member firms worldwide.

Prior to joining the Corporate International Tax team Joe was based in the Private Client Group where he provided personal tax consultancy and compliance services to individuals and partnerships. 

For the past 15 years Joe has been the main adviser and Charity Correspondent to The Band Aid Charitable Trust and is responsible for managing all aspects of UK tax, charity compliance and finance functions, as well as delivering structuring advice for major projects including the Live 8 concerts, the release of the Live Aid and Live 8 DVDs and more recently, the Band Aid 30 campaign. As part of his wider role for the charity Joe is also responsible for developing and implementing Band Aid’s current grant making processes, which have enabled the trustees to commit a further £32m of funding to life-changing projects in Africa since 2005.
