BDO advised Hill & Smith Holdings PLC, a Midlands headquartered FTSE 250 listed group, on the disposal of the Swedish road safety rental business of ATA Hill & Smith AB ("ATA"). ATA provides road safety and road work equipment through three main divisions, rental, product sales and infrastructure.
The transaction comprised the carve-out of the rental business of ATA, which included the rental of road traffic equipment and associated services including flagman, training and education. After a structured sale process, RentSafe Sverige was the successful bidder, identifying that the rental business of ATA would complement their existing business in Sweden. RentSafe Sverige is a subsidiary of Ramirent, a €700m turnover rental business headquartered in Finland, owned by Loxam Group, based in France.
