BDO has advised Wine Box Company Limited, a UK-based specialist packaging business, on its successful sale to Premier Paper Group Limited.
Founded in 1989 and headquartered in its new warehouse in Crawley, WBC has more than thirty years of experience in the specialist drinks and food packaging industry with a strong focus on serving its retail clients. The company ensures its customers stay at the forefront of the packaging product and e-commerce market by supplying innovative products via its sustainable supply chain.
Premier Paper Group is the UK’s leading paper merchant and offers a variety of high-quality products and services to its customers. The Company was acquired in 2019 by Japan Pulp and Paper, a $4bn revenue global company with over 3,900 people across several diverse sectors but with paper at its core.
The acquisition of Wine Box Company is the latest deal in PPG’s buy and build strategy, following the recent acquisition of Zulu Packaging as it continues to expand in this space. This acquisition will underpin Premier Paper Group’s strategy to expand its packaging products and continue to diversify its offering across the UK.
Wine Box Company was advised by BDO’s M&A team, which provided sell-side lead advisory to the shareholders. In addition, BDO also provided financial modelling and tax services to the company and the shareholders.
