Capital Markets transactions: 2018 at a glance
08 May 2019
Our team advised on over 16 Initial Public Offering (IPO) transactions in the last year with a number of notable trends in both AIM and Main Market of London Stock Exchange.
We have witnessed a challenging year for UK IPOs and other capital market transactions with a difficult end to 2018. The ongoing Brexit negotiations, resulting political uncertainty and continuing market volatility dampened capital markets and investors appetite during 2018, with declining number of new joiners, and IPO fundraisings and proceeds from further issues decreasing in the last six months.
Despite the “pause” button being hit in the near future in the UK capital markets, we are still seeing a healthy number of companies preparing for IPOs and pursuing further issues as a route to growth in 2019.
