Key Highlights from the Indian Union Budget

The Indian Finance Minister announced the last budget of the present government on 1 February 2018. Consolidating aims to deliver a budget focusing on inclusive growth, addressing the anxieties of rural India, emphasizing on welfare driven by sectors of healthcare, education, infrastructure were a few highlights. The FM continued to keep technology central to delivering digitally empowered services & solutions with an aim to strengthen governance for making it easy to do business with India.
With unpromising announcements on tax proposals, the budget did not quite deliver on expectations of corporate, tax-paying India; but did indicate that the way to sustainable growth will be built on public benefits like social security, improving ‘ease of living’ , creating an enabling ecosystem for businesses and more.
