More about BDO and Envestors

BDO is working with Envestors, the ‘fintech for fundraising’ company, to combine their expertise in corporate finance, equity finance, tax and accounting services to create a one-stop shop for high-growth businesses to raise finance. The collaboration is a response to the growing difficulty for ambitious, growing businesses to raise capital in the UK’s uncertain economic climate. The goal is to help 50 companies in the next 12 months.

Sarah Friend, partner at BDO LLP, said: “We know that supporting entrepreneurial and ambitious businesses drives prosperous economy. All the more so in a climate of political and economic uncertainty. These are the principles set out in our vision for a ‘New Economy’, and we are determined to support small innovative businesses across the country unlock barriers to growth as we enter a new chapter of UK plc post-Brexit.”

Oliver Woolley, CEO of Envestors, said: “A key part of the roadshow is making expertise accessible to start-ups across the country. In the last year, more than 672,000 businesses were founded in the UK and, in order to scale, many of these businesses will need equity finance.  We are here to show these companies that, despite the economic uncertainty, with the right tools and preparation they can access the funding they need. The roadshow will allow us to have conversations, build relationships and ultimately help these young businesses to grow, prosper and drive economic growth.”
