Celebrating an award winning Payroll team

16 October 2020

The provision of payroll services plays a vital role in the UK economy and supporting the smooth operation of businesses as they seek to achieve their commercial objectives. It’s important that the professionals responsible for the accurate, compliant and timely delivery of these services within their organisations are recognised for their significant and strategic roles.

The CIPP's Annual Excellence Awards are designed to do just that. The ceremony is for those true payroll and pension professionals who have made an outstanding contribution and demonstrated a commitment to excellence in their profession.

This year our payroll team were shortlisted for not one, but four, categories at the Chartered Institute of Payroll Providers (CIPP) Annual Excellence Awards held virtually on Thursday 15 October 2020.

The shortlisted categories included:

  • Payroll Service Provider of the Year
  • International Payroll Provider of the Year
  • Maria Mason for ‘My Biggest Influencer of the Year’
  • Paul Hammond for ‘Payroll Manager of the Year’

Beating out stiff competition from heavy hitters within across the UK Payroll scene, we’re delighted to announce that Payroll director, Maria Mason, took home the prize for:

  • My Biggest Influencer of the Year

This category was set up to recognise an individual in the payroll sector who has invested their time to support and develop their colleagues - providing guidance and imparting wisdom which has empowered them, and has provided advice which has benefitted their team in their role and career.

Maria Mason, Payroll Director, comments:

“As with many operational functions, payroll providers have had to rise to the challenge of remote working whilst supporting clients to navigate the impact of COVID-19 on payroll – including getting to grips with government measures such as the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.

I’m proud to have received this award and importantly, of our Payroll team for their award nominations. Our success wouldn’t be possible without the support of our clients – many of whom provided testimonials in thanks for the service our Payroll team have provided in recent months.”
