Worcestershire Growth Report

23 October 2019

Worcestershire’s economy is being driven by manufacturing and precision engineering and retail and leisure businesses. These two sectors account for 62% of the county’s top 50 fastest growing businesses. The list is topped by Barberry Group Limited and Excool Limited. These are the key findings of the fourth annual Worcestershire Growth Report.

The ongoing importance of these two sectors is a sign of sector consolidation that we believe policy makers should be looking at. There needs to be a balance between promoting and celebrating growth and encouraging economic diversity.

The report includes far more than just a look at the 50 growth stars. In this edition, Worcester Bosch tells us about its innovation plans and how they rely on Worcestershire’s engineering skills to stay ahead of the game. You can read about how Worcestershire’s 5G test bed project is improving productivity 1% - 2% for the businesses taking part and hear from the Worcestershire 1000 team who are embarking a unique campaign to launch the region as a destination for jobseekers, business leaders and investors.
