Birmingham and Solihull
Birmingham and Solihull is booming. With increased innovation, a rise in recruitment and investment in infrastructure, the area is attracting new businesses and workers across the industries, most notably in the services sector where, at a 47% increase, it is effectively the fastest-growing sector in the region.

In the latest Midlands Growth Barometer report, BDO’s Shropshire Growth Barometer confirms the county’s top 50 fastest growing companies across Shropshire have given the local economy a combined £1.1 billion turnover boost.
Staffordshire’s fastest-growing companies are on a roll. The county’s top 50 growth leaders turned over a combined £25 billion in the last year under review, up 54% from £17 billion two years ago. Manufacturing remains the leading industry in Staffordshire, however, retail and wholesale are currently a close second with 9 companies within the top 50.
The 2018 edition of the Worcestershire Growth Report not only includes data on the financial health of Worcestershire’s 50 fastest-growing businesses, but also includes interviews with business leaders including First Grade International and Skatehut.
