Hamid Ghafoor

I'm the National Head of Social Housing, leading a team of over 150 staff that advises more than 50 clients in the sector, including some of the largest social housing providers in England. I also lead BDO's Northern NFP team which works across Housing providers, Charities and Universities, and my portfolio also includes a number of University and Charity Clients.

I have significant non-executive experience in the social housing sector. I've previously served as Chair of New Charter Housing Group (now part of Jigsaw) and Chair of Audit at Aspire Group, and I've also held a senior financial position at one of the largest providers in the sector. That combination of advisory and operational experience gives me a distinctive perspective on the challenges housing associations face.

The NFP Northern team also act for a number of large Universities and charities across the North of England.
