John Heffer

I'm a Technology Risk Assurance Partner and lead the national Audit Data Analytics team, delivering data analytics engagements across all offices and sectors including financial services. I've been with the firm for 38 years and have extensive experience in audit data analytics, IT audits and advisory services for large, listed, governmental and multinational entities.

Alongside leading the data team, I have a track record of driving innovation. I designed and built the BDO Advantage Data Analytics solution and led its growth in the UK and internationally. I've also been responsible for rolling out solutions into the auditor's digital toolkit, sitting on the Digital Audit Board and am heavily involved in Audit Labs, the Digital Audit Community and several audit quality initiatives. I also sit as the UK's representative on the FRC Audit Technology Working Group and the BDO International Audit Innovation Board, developing the strategies and plans for the Future of Audit.
